Sale of a One & Two Family Residence or Condominium Unit

In accordance with the New Jersey Uniform Fire Safety Act a Certificate of Smoke Detector, Carbon Monoxide Alarm, Portable Fire Extinguisher Compliance (CSDCMAPFEC) is required for the change of ownership of one & two family residences. This includes the change in ownership of condominiums.  

Please submit the RESALE SMOKE ALARM APPLICATION along with payment, to the Office of the Fire Marshal to schedule an inspection.  The form is also accessible below under “Forms”.

NOTE:  At this time, when a home is sold or rented, the construction office does NOT perform a new Certificate of Occupancy (CO) inspection.
