The Municipal Stormwater Regulation Program was developed in response to the US Environmental Protection Agency’s (USEPA) Phase II rules published in December 1999. The Department issued final stormwater rules on February 2, 2004 and four (4) NJPDES general permits authorizing stormwater discharges from Tier A municipalities, of which the Township of Maple Shade is included. The permit governs all stormwater discharges generated throughout the municipality by regulating standards related to best management practices (BMPs) for new development, redevelopment and existing development. A key component of the program is municipality’s public education program, which aims to educate Township residents regarding what is being done and what they can do to help improve the quality of the Township’s water bodies.

Stormwater BMP Forms
Property owners, homeowners associations, business owners, and residents responsible for maintenance of a stormwater system must submit the appropriate form below annually by December 31st to the Department of Public Works.
